CUC Central Reflect RAP formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia
12 Sep 2025
CUC Central is proud to announce that our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been formally endorsed and accredited by Reconciliation Australia. This important milestone formalises our commitment to reconciliation and sets out the practical steps we will take as an organisation.
In his message, CEO Chris Ronan noted:
“This Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan marks an important step for CUC Central. It formalises our commitment to reconciliation and sets out practical actions we will take as an organisation. These actions will help us build respectful partnerships and ensure CUC Central continues to evolve its approach to reconciliation.”
Chris also emphasised the significance of CUC Central’s role as a small, remote team:
“As a small remote team working across many places, we understand reconciliation cannot be uniform. Each community has its own history, culture, and custodians. By CUC Central taking this first reflective step, we hope to encourage affiliated CUC Centres to consider how they may walk their own reconciliation path with their local communities.”
The RAP outlines actions focused on relationships, respect, and opportunity. These include identifying Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders across our areas of work, reviewing policies for cultural safety, exploring employment and procurement opportunities, and equipping staff with the knowledge and tools to engage respectfully.
This outcome reflects the collective efforts of many. We especially thank Kinne Ring, who initiated the RAP process and championed its early progress, and the CUC Reconciliation Working Group, who carried this work forward to completion. We also acknowledge the guidance of Cross Cultural Consultants and the contribution of Caitlin Trindall of Mirii Art, whose artwork brings cultural depth and meaning to the plan.
With the RAP now endorsed, our focus turns to action. CUC Central is committed to delivering on the steps outlined in the plan and embedding reconciliation into our everyday work.
